Following are some of the key people involved in New Kalapa from a larger team of 200 people in 6 countries.
Tim Loncarich has been an entrepreneur, researcher and futurist since he was twelve years old and has spent the last forty years deeply immersed in sustainability issues and developing a framework for a new human civilization and culture that is truly sustainable and which nurtures human evolution. He is the founder and Chairman of the International Digital Monetary Council think tank and founder and CEO of Bid Ocean and Climate Survival Solutions, a U.S. based public benefit corporation, an affiliate of Climate Survival Solutions India.
Brad Reddersen is the CEO of Climate Survival Solutions Pvt. Ltd. He is also the founder and head of Sustainable Sikkim, a sustainability outreach organization based in Gangtok, Sikkim. He is an entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience in the fields of computer graphics, electro-optics, supercomputers, retail technology, climate crisis science, and sustainability engineering.
Mr. Reddersen has a B.S. in Physics, and M.S. in Optical Engineering and advanced education in computer science, climate science and electrical engineering. He is the inventor of over 30 U.S. patents, and is the author of papers in climate science, geopolitics, technology, and strategy. He has written extensively about the climate crisis, including The Sustainable Sikkim Guide to the Climate Crisis guidebook.
Matrika is a Research Scholar currently in the Ph.D. program and IIT Bombay, located in Mumbai, India. There she is pursuing studies in the fields of climate action and sustainable development goals. Her research interests are in Climate Justice, Energy, Environment and Systems Thinking, with an emphasis on the Himalayan region. Besides her current IIT Program Ph.D. program activities, Ms. Ghimiray also holds the degrees of M.Tech in Energy Technology, from the National Institute of Technology in Hamirpur, H.P., India, and B.E. in Electrical Engineering, from Basaveshwar Engineering College in Karnataka, India.
Dr. Meenakshi Bhattacharjee is an internationally renowned algal biotechnologist and cyanobacteriologist with 35 years of experience in isolation, identification, cultivation, propagation, and optimization of growth of different types of microscopic algae from different ecological niches all over the world with a great hold on their metabolism, physiology and biochemistry. Possess expert abilities in the manipulation and scaling up of algal cultures focused on synthesis and extraction of commercially high- value biotechnological molecules She has had the privilege of working in leading algae labs in Germany, the United Kingdom, and the United States on the prestigious DAAD, Commonwealth Fellowship, and Department of Biotechnology Overseas Associateship, respectively. In recognition of her accomplishments, she has received numerous awards, including the Albert Schweitzer international medal for Science (UK), Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Award for Environmental Biotechnology (UNESCO Recognized), K.N. Katju Award for outstanding achievements in Life science (MPCST/DST Govt. of India), and the World Oil Award for her work on cleaning up and bioremediation of waste return fluid from oil wells in 2017 in the United States. She is also a member, life member, and Fellow of several major international scientific organizations. She has also been named as one of the top 100 women scientists of India, in the book Lillawati's Daughters: The Women Scientists of India, published by the Indian Academy of Sciences.
Dr. Bhattacharjee is a Faculty Fellow at Rice University's Biosciences Department in Texas, USA, in addition to her consulting/advisory role in support of Climate Survival Solutions Pvt. Ltd. and Climate Survival Solutions, Inc. She holds a Ph.D. and M.Sc.(Gold medalist) degree from Banaras Hindu University.
Dr. Simrat Kaur is a Senior Research Scientist specializing in applications of algae for everything from wastewater treatment to biofuel development, aquaponics, and more. Her background includes post-doctoral research at Le Mans Universite in France; as an Algae Scientist at Texasta, Inc., in Texas; as a Technical Manager and Microalgal biotechnologist at Algae Health, SME, Ireland; as a Research Scholar and Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO); and at India’s Ministry of Defence. She holds a Ph.D. in Botany & Plant Science, National University of Ireland. She holds a Ph.D. in Botany & Plant Science, National University of Ireland, M. Phil and M. Sc. in Botany from Delhi University, and a B.Sc. in Botany from Venkateswara College, Delhi University.
Lusiyana Thapa is Legal Counsel for Climate Survival Solutions Pvt. Ltd. She is also currently a Practicing Advocate in the courts of Gangtok, Sikkim. She holds a B.A. LL.B. from South Calcutta Law College and an LL. M. from Sikkim University’s Department of Law.
Ram Dahal heads the Artificial Intelligence and Software development groups for Bid Ocean Consultancy Gangtok and in support of New Kalapa Tech Park and Habitat Pvt. Ltd. Mr. Dahal has over 8 years' experience in Information Technology in the fields of support development, and maintenance. Prior to joining the team in Gangtok, he worked with Tata Consultancy Services' Innovation and Transformation Group and Ericsson's ICT group. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and Engineering.
Ria Alaba has a B.S. degree in Computer Engineering. She has been working with Bid Ocean, Inc. since 2009 as a Software Programmer and System Administrator.
Fatema Diwan is a microbiologist. She has over ten years' background in advanced biological research, including extensive experience with microbial fermentation and molecular biology. Prior to joining the New Kalapa Tech Park and Climate Survival Solutions' engineering teams, she worked as a QC microbiologist in the medical device industry. She holds a Master's Degree in Industrial Microbiology.
Smeriti Pradhan is Lead Engineer for the company's projects. She holds a B. Tech in Civil Engineering and is currently working on a variety of Research and Development projects in support of Climate Survival Solutions Pvt. Ltd.
Bagepali Hydervali is a structural engineer based in Karnataka, India, with experience in site analysis, building engineering, and structural analysis. He has a S.S.LC Degree from K.S.S.E.B., P.U.C. from National College, and Civil Engineering training from S.J.C.I.T. Chickbalapur.
Leoni Leong is an architectural designer and CAD technologist based in the Philippines, and a member of the Sustainable Sikkim/New Kalapa Tech Park and Habitat design team. She is eco-conscious and a nature lover, making this project a dream for her to be a part of.
Ruchie Custan is a senior electronics engineer supporting a variety of projects for the company. After graduation, Mr. Custan has worked with a variety of both large and small organizations which have provided him a wide range of skills. These range from microcontroller design, advanced sensor systems, and advanced environmental applications for sustainability and more. He is currently based in Canada.
Vishal Mahajan has 12.5 years of experience in Industry as a Production Supervisor and Maintenance Manager. He has served 11.1 years in Education/Teaching Profession with a reputed Engineering Colleges and University as a Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer/ Assistant Professor/Class Co-ordinator/ Placement Co-ordinator/ Overall Faculty Coordinator for Placements.
Dr. Chance Eaton is an organizational psychologist and peak performance coach with advanced degrees in psychology, business and education. He is the founder of Human Capital Solutions International, a Learning & Organizational Development Consulting firm. His areas of specialization include organizational psychology, work engagement, performance coaching, leadership development, and well-being. Previous work experience includes Learning & Development for Insurance and State Government, Farming-Ranching, Higher Education Faculty, Human Resource Leadership, Mental Health Counseling, and Non-Profit Leadership.
